Look forward to/be used to,

                                                           TO   +   verbe en -ING

 1)   to look forward to    (anticipate something with interest)  est une expression où 'to' n'est pas le début d'un

                                         infinitif mais une préposition.

                                         On le vérifie en remarquant que 'to' peut être suivi d'un nom ou d'un pronom

                                                            I look forward to next weekend

                                                            I look forward to it         (the weekend)

                                                            I'm looking forward to it

                                         Quand cette expression est suivie d'un verbe 'to' étant une préposition le verbe a

                                         la forme en -ing

                                                            I'm looking forward to seeing you again

                                          I'll never get used to doing the cooking twice a day

      à ne pas confondre avec

              used to     suivi de l'infinitif   (ici to n'est pas une préposition)

                                used to exprime qu'une habitude du passé est terminée

                                         When I was young I used to play the piano          (je n'en joue plus)

                                         Katy used to be a friend of mine               (elle n'est plus mon amie)
