Introduction/ cultural appropriation
Message de bvert posté le 06-01-2021 à 22:55:23 (S | E | F)
Bonsoir,
Pourriez vous m'aider à corriger les fautes d'anglais de mon introduction ?
Merci d'avance

Cultural appropriation is a huge controversial topic that has been debated for many years. Often, this appropriation occurs without any real understanding of the traditional and original culture. Cultural appropriation takes place when people don’t understand the signification and the history of a culture and they use it and make it their own. We consider that culture must be lived and learned. Culture is the characteristics and knowledge of a particular group of people, including language, religion, food, social habits and arts and cultural appropriation is known today as people adopting icons, ideas, traditions, aesthetic standards or behavior from an oppressed culture. Moreover a form of “assimilation” emerged in which marginalized or oppressed communities lose their cultural markers and are folded into the dominant culture. For some people cultural appropriation has good and bad sides but nowadays it is almost always discussed with a negative connotation. These days, we are moving from cultural appropriation to cultural appreciation. It means that we don’t appropriate a culture but we just appreciate it. According to the Oxford Dictionary, appreciation is "recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or something." The key question is : Why is cultural appropriation a delicate topic and can we consider a cultural appropriation as a cultural appreciation ? Moreover, is the expression “cultural appreciation” becoming an obligation of acceptance of cultural appropriation? First of all we'll understand why cultural appropriation is still a delicate and hurtful topic and then we will study the idea of cultural appreciation often questioned and considered as a form of acceptance and respect towards cultures.

Bonsoir
Peu d’erreurs
