Correction / Immigration
Message de lili97kat posté le 24-12-2013 à 10:46:45 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,

Pourriez-vous m'aider à corriger mon texte s'il vous plaît?

First, the titles of the articles are « A nation of immigrants » and « Welcome to All ! », we can suppose that the notion here is immigration.
Then, the document 1 is a a text, more precisely a poem who is engraved on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. The poem says to give him the poors and that he lift their way. We can understand that America want to and that he welcome them. Moreover, there is an other text and a photography where people are examined by a doctor and accepted or not in America.
Next, the document 2 is a photography. In a harbor, we can see five mens who seems intercept the immigrants.
So, for conclude, these 2 documents can link well the notion of immigrations in America.

Merci d'avance.

Hello.

I'm going to point out some of the more basic errors.

First, the titles of the articles are « A nation of immigrants » and « Welcome to All ! », we can suppose that the notion here is immigration.
Then, the document 1 is a a text, more precisely a poem who is engraved on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. The poem says to give him the poors and that he lift (the verb lift is here, but the sense of 'lifting their way' is not the correct sense) their way. We can understand that America want__ to and that he welcome__ them. Moreover, there is another text and a photography where people are examined by a doctor and accepted or not in America.
Next, the document 2 is a photography. In a harbor, we can see five mens who seems___ intercept the immigrants.
So, for conclude,(either the infinitive or the noun form) these 2 documents can link well the notion of immigrations in America.

Hello,

Thank you for your answer. I added some words to improve my text.

First, the titles of the articles are « A nation of immigrants » and « Welcome to All ! » published on the end of 19th century. We can suppose that these article focuse an the notion of immigration.
Then, the document 1 is a text, more precisely a Emma Lazarus' poem which is engraved on the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty. The poem says to give America the poor and that he guide them toward the golden door. We can understand that America want to help them and that he will welcome them. Moreover, there is an other text and a photograph where we learn that foreigners are examined by a doctor and accepted or not in America.
Next, the document 2 is a photograph. In a harbor, we can see five men who seem to intercept a man who disembark with bags and blanket like a lost.
So, to conclude, these 2 documents can link well the notion of immigration in America because we can see foreigners who arrive in America.
