Idea of progress/Bac
Message de julien83bis posté le 01-10-2016 à 14:35:15 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,
je suis en train de réaliser un oral de fin de séquence, j'aimerais savoir si quelqu'un pouvait m'aider à corriger mes erreurs s'il vous plait?
Merci d'avance

The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change, a technical, scientific or social advance which contributes to making the world a better place. In this sequence we studied the consumption society which we are in. It’s true that not all of us are real consumers but the majority buy excessive think that they don’t want or they don’t need. So we can question us about the characteristics of our society in term of consumption and in what way can we change this?
I. Characteristics of our society
A. Shopping
B. Online Shopping
II. Ways that we can change our consumption
A. Become a freegan
B. Buy Fair trade or bartering
Finally, we saw that our consumption society is based on the appearance. Most of people are buying think that they don’t want or they don’t need, and that can contribute to bad issues for the earth. We also saw that we can change that, every one of us, just by buying different thing at the shops or buy using bartering. You can become a freegan too, it’s a good way to limit the wasting of the big malls, but I know that could be disgusting for most of us.

Hello!

The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change, a technical, scientific or social advance which contributes to making the world a better place. In this sequence we studied the consumption society which we are in. It’s true that not all of us are real consumers but the majority buy excessive think (confusion think/thing + plural) that they don’t want or they don’t need. So we can question us(try to use "wonder"...) about the characteristics of our society in term of consumption and in what way can we change this?(be careful ... you started with an indirect interrogative... )

C'est un plan .... mais il faudrait développer un tout petit peu les différentes parties pour être certain de ne rien oublier d'important et de ne pas faire trop de fautes ! Un plan détaillé est nécessaire ...

Bonjour et merci,
The idea of progress can be defined as an improvement, a development or a change, a technical, scientific or social advance which contributes to making the world a better place. In this sequence we studied the consumption society which we are in. It’s true that not all of us are real consumers but the majority buy excessive things that they don’t want or they don’t need. So we can wonder us about the characteristics of our society in term of consumption and in what way can we change this?
First I’ll talk about the characteristics of our consumption society, and after I’ll speak about the ways that we can use to change our habits.

I. Characteristics of our society
A. Shopping

For most of us, we are doing spending spree in malls, in shops or on internet. Shopping is a very popular thing, it’s a banal activity like go to the cinema or visit a big city. There is a day which is very important in the lives of shopaholic people. This day is Black Friday, it’s the first Friday after thanksgiving. This day is characterized by BIG DEALS and frenzied crowds which want to make bargains. That’s a big day in terms of frequentation in malls. The best sells are this day. Shopping at malls has advantages. You can try articles on, and you can take a real look of what you’re buying or you’re looking for. That’s not possible on the internet.

B. Online Shopping
Online shopping is a great alternative to shopping in malls or in little shops. You have a largest choice, but you can’t really see what you’re buying. Like normal shopping, online shopping has his big days. The Big Monday is the first Monday after thanksgiving, it’s also the biggest day in terms of online purchase in America. People are using those 2 days, black Friday and big Monday to make their purchase for Christmas.

II. Ways that we can change our consumption

A. Buy Fair trade or bartering

All this consumption is not benefit for the earth and for our society. Industries are creating massively the products and big malls are selling it. In alternative of this banal medium of production, you can use fair trade. Fair trade is a way that you can really help the producers of what you’re buying. A bigger part of the price is going to him. To change your habits you can use bartering too. Bartering is the exchange of goods or services for goods or services. This medium of exchange is very popular in times of economic crisis an when the money is hard to get.

B. Become a freegan
To change your shopping habits you can also don’t go to the malls. That’s not you’re thinking about, you can become a freegan. Freegans are people who are looking for food in the dumpster of big malls. They want to raise awareness of how much big malls are wasting. For most of us it can be disgusting, but it could be a great alternative to our consumption.

Finally, we saw that our consumption society is based on appearances. Most people are buying things that they don’t want or they don’t need, and that can contributes to bad issues for the earth. We also saw that we can change that, every one of us, just by buying different things at the shops or using bartering. You can become a freegan too, it’s a good way to limit the wasting of the big malls, but I know that could be disgusting for most of us.
