Find the missing vowels and unscramble the consonants in order to get the right word.

All the numbers of vowels are given.

1- A tool with a heavy metal head pointed at one or both ends, used for breaking hard surfaces such as, roads, rocks etc. ..... (k p x c) 2

2- Feeling doubt; uncertain what to think, expect etc. ..... (b t l f d) 3

3- A rounded cork etc, with feathers etc fixed in it, used in the game of badminton. ..... (t s k c h l t c) 3

4- To mark a letter by machine to show that postage has been paid. ..... (n f k r) 1

5- A long narrow of hills. ..... (g r d) 2

6- To urge or force (a person etc) to do something by annoying (him etc). ..... (d g) 2

7- To summon (someone) by making a sign with the fingers. ..... (k b n c) 2

8- Severe but not lasting very long. (Disease etc). ..... (t c) 3

9- The beginning of something. ..... (t t s) 3

Hi Everybody!

Here is my work:
1- A tool with a heavy metal head pointed at one or both ends, used for breaking hard surfaces such as, roads, rocks etc. (k p x c) 2 pickaxe (UK), pickax (US) = pioche.
2- Feeling doubt; uncertain what to think, expect etc. (b t l f d) 3 doubtful = incertain, dubitatif.
3- A rounded cork etc, with feathers etc fixed in it, used in the game of badminton. (t s k c h l t c) 3 shuttlecock = volant (badminton).
4- To mark a letter by machine to show that postage has been paid. (n f k r) 1 frank = oblitérer.
5- A long narrow of hills. (g r d) 2 ridge = crête.
6- To urge or force (a person etc) to do something by annoying (him etc). (d g) 2 goad = provoquer, pousser à faire qqch.
7- To summon (someone) by making a sign with the fingers. (k b n c) 2 beckon = faire signe à qqn de s'approcher.
8- Severe but not lasting very long. (Disease etc). (t c) 3 acute = grave, aigu.
9- The beginning of something. (t t s) 3 outset = début, commencement.
10- To damage, weaken or make less good.(p r m) 3 impair = altérer, dégrader, détériorer.
