Find the missing vowels and unscramble the consonants in order to get the right word.

This time, the number of vowels is given in 8 out of 10 answers.

1- A kind of animal like a snail. ..... (g s l)

2- A person who has risen quickly to wealth or power but seems to lack dignity or ability. ..... (p t s r t) 2

3- To urge or force (a person etc) to do something by annoying him etc. ..... (g d) 2

4- Flags for use in celebrations. ..... (g b n n t) 2

5- To separate the chaff from (the grain) by wind. ..... (n n w w) 2

6- Make less, shorter etc (than was originally intended). ..... (t c r l) 3

7- An owner, especially of a shop, hotel etc. ..... (r r r t p p) 4

8- In the first place. ..... (t f s l r)

Hi Everybody!

Here is my work:
1- A kind of animal like a snail. (g s l) slug = limace.
2- A person who has risen quickly to wealth or power but seems to lack dignity or ability. (p t s r t) 2 upstart = parvenu, morveux.
3- To urge or force (a person etc) to do something by annoying him etc. (g d) 2 goad = provoquer.
4- Flags for use in celebrations. (g b n n t) 2 bunting = guirlande de fanions.
5- To separate the chaff from (the grain) by wind. (n n w w) 2 winnow = vanner.
6- Make less, shorter etc (than was originally intended). (t c r l) 3 curtail = écourter, abréger.
7- An owner, especially of a shop, hotel etc. (r r r t p p) 4 proprietor = patron, propriétaire.
8- In the first place. (t f s l r) firstly = primo, en tout premier lieu.
9- To have plenty of. (d b n) 3 abound = abonder, regorger.
10- In one's thoughts; secretly. (w l n r d) 3 inwardly = secrètement, en son for intérieur.
