The missing vowels/4
Message de marit64 posté le 26-12-2012 à 23:59:57 (S | E | F)
everybody!

Find the missing vowels and unscramble the consonants in order to get the right word. The number of letters is also given.

1- To talk idly, rapidly and indistinctly. ..... (bjrb) 6
2- A person to whom one is engaged to be married. ..... (nfc) 6
3- An expert judge of art, music, wine etc. ..... (nrscns) 11
4- To lose consciousness. ..... (ntf) 5
5- A name used by a writer instead of his own name. ..... (mpnn-) 7
6- To give or impose something unpleasant and unwanted. ..... (ltncf) 7
7- A type of grain used for food and for making beer and whisky. ..... (lbr) 6
8- The female deer, especially of the red deer. ..... (nhd) 4
9- To slide accidentally sideways. ..... (kds) 4
10- Tired; with strength or patience exhausted. ..... (rw) 5

Good luck and have fun!

I'd like to wish you the best for the year to come.

So long

I'm really sorry for the mistakes I've made with the numbers 4 and 6. You'll see the right letters in blue. Christmas time is often so exhausting, isn't it?

Hello Marit,

Thank you for this new one. Great pleasure.

1- To talk idly, rapidly and indistinctly. ..... (bjrb) 6 jabber
2- A person to whom one is engaged to be married. ..... (nfc) 6 fiancé or fiance
3- An expert judge of art, music, wine etc. ..... (nrscns) 11 connoisseur
4- To lose consciousness. ..... (ssssccnn) 13 It is sure that you are waiting for a verb. So, with other consonants, it could be the verb collapse ; or “Be Unconscious” – a total of 13 letters
5- A name used by a writer instead of his own name. ..... (mpnn-) 7 penname
6- To give or impose something unpleasant and unwanted. ..... (ltcf) 7 with a strange vowel “n” : inflict. It’s a funny game to-day.
7- A type of grain used for food and for making beer and whisky. ..... (lbr) 6 barley
8- The female deer, especially of the red deer. ..... (nhd) 4 hind
9- To slide accidentally sideways. ..... (kds) 4 skid
10- Tired; with strength or patience exhausted. ..... (rw) 5 weary

Have a nice week

It is sure that faint is the word you were waiting for. Don't worry you don't inflict us any unpleasant thing. The pleasure is always here.
