Adverbs of Place

- to indicate where something happened

Adverbs of Degree

- to show the strength or degree of the action or state
- they answer the following questions - How much?  to what degree?...
 ( almost, much, too, little, enough, very, extremely, just, fully, so, rather, quite, nearly, hardly, scarcely...)
 The teacher rather likes his pupils.
 Kevin doesn't have enough money to buy this car.

Adverbs of Manner

- to indicate how something happens or is done
- they are usually found after the verb
- they answer the question - How?
 ( happily, angrily, terribly, slowly, bravely, loudly, prettily, badly, beautifully, carefully, weakly ,luckily ...)
 The old woman walked slowly.
 Stella dances beautifully.

Adverbs of Time

- to tell us when an event happened
- to show how long an event lasted and how often it happens
- they often answer the question - When?
 ( later, now, tomorrow, yesterday, today, soon, afterwards, just, ago, before...)

Adverbs of Frequency

- to show the frequency of the action or state
- they answer the question - How often?
