Abréviations

So, here is a general perspective about abbreviations:

There are 3 sorts of abbreviations: the general one is called an Abbreviation, another one is an Acronym that differentiates a bit from the average abbreviation, and the last one an Initialism which differentiates as well from the both listed above.

- Let's start with Abbreviations:

An abbreviation is often formed with the first letters of the word that is being said, so it is a short form of the  word. The abbreviation often has a dot after it (Exception: there is no dot after ''kg'').

As  examples :

Inc. which stands for Incorporated.

P. which stands for Page.

As you can see from the examples, Inc. and P. are formed from the first letters of their respective words (Incorporated and Page.)

- Secondly there are Acronyms:

An acronym is an abbreviation, but it is formed from the first or first few letters or several words. They are generally written in capital.

Here's an example:

NATO. Which stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

As shown, NATO is formed from the first 4 letters of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

- Lastly, we have Initialisms:

An initialism is an abbreviation as well, but it is formed from the initial letters of a name or phrase. It is generally written in capital like Acronyms.

An example is:

FBI. Which stands for Federal Bureau of Investigation.

As written, FBI is formed from the initial letters of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In this exercise you will choose between Abbreviation,  Acronym or Initialism that best suits the abbreviation in the parentheses in the following sentences.
