Petits exos type bac
Message de rainbowtree posté le 05-01-2007 à 12:59:51 (S | E | F | I)

Bonjour,
Merci.

1 Turn the following sentences into the reported speech :

Mr Costello asked me "Are you 18 ?"
==> Mr Costello asked me if I was 18

The narrator answered " I have my passport , SIr"
==> The narrator answered that he had his passport

The barman wanted to know " What is an Irishman doing with an American passport ?"
==> The barman wanted to know what was an Irishman doing with an American passport

The barman told him " You don't have them in your head ! "
==> The barman told him he didn't have them in his head

2 Fill in the blanks using the appropriate adverbial particle taken from the following list . Some may be used more than once : across, along, around , away ,back ,down, for, into, off,on,out,up

1 Climb : walk across
2 Discover : find out
3 Disembark : get off
4 Meet : come across
5 Reduce : keep down
6 Visit : Walk on

Merci de votre aide.

Hello,

1) seems OK except for :
The barman wanted to know what was an Irishman doing with an American passport
(What are you doing ? ==> He asked me what I was doing)

2)
1 Climb : walk across ?
2,3,4,5 look OK to me

I hope I've been helpful.

Peux tu verifier ? merci

Rewrite the following sentences without changing the meaning . Use the prompts provided.

1 Mr Costello strongly advised the narrator to read Dr Johnson
==> Mr Costello wanted narrator read Dr Johnson

2 He arrived in New York 2 days ago
==> He ... for two days ( l'espace est tres petit . J'ai pas trouvé)

3 It's impossible he was involved in last week's murder
==> He can't be involved in the last week's murder

4 The narrator liked Mr Costello and Mr Costello liked the narrator
==> The narrator and Mr Costello liked themselves

5 Mr Costello spoke to the customer in an insulting way
==> The customer.... ( je pense à The customer had been spoken by Mr Costello in an insulting way mais c'est étrange je trouve )

6 Perhaps he left Ireland because he wanted to have a better life
==> He left Ireland because he wanted to have a better life maybe

4 "The narrator and Mr Costello liked themselves" veut dire que chacun s'aime lui-même !

5 Mr Costello spoke to the costumer in an insulting way
==> The costumer.... ( je pense à The costumer had been spoken by Mr Costello in a insulting way mais c'est étrange je trouve )

- Et d'autre part "He spoke to..." va donner au passif "........ spoken to by ..."

6 Perhaps he left Ireland because he wanted to have a better life
==> He left Ireland because he wanted to have a better life maybe

Tu n'as rien changé à la phrase.

1 Mr Costello wanted the narrator to read Dr Jonhson

2 He has been in New York for 2 days

3 He can't be involved in last week's murder

4 The narrator and Mr Costello liked each other

5 The customer was spoken by Mr Costello in an insulting way

6 He left Ireland in order to have a better life maybe.

Merci

... spoken + ? (voir ci-dessus).

...was spoken to by Mr...
Good job otherwise !
