Bonjour.
A petites doses....
Introduction:
During the English lesson we were asked to work in pairs and to carry out a project about Australia. We were allowed to choose a topic among all the varied topics presented. My friend and I chose Sydney because this city impresses us by its splendour as well as by its proportion.
Sydney: a large and superb city
- Located in the south-east of Australia, it's the first port and the largest city of the country. It's also the capital of New South Wales on the Pacific Ocean. Since its foundation, Sydney has become a large metropolis, one of the largest in the world. It's twice the surface of New York. It's the same surface as London: (one thousand six hundred square kilometres)!
One Australian out of five lives in Sydney, which is enormous.
Sydney has pleasant climate conditions: The average temperature is (twenty-three) degrees in summer and (thirteen) degrees in winter.
Winter starts in June and summer in December.
Sydney: concentration and population
The East of Sydney counts a majority of British or Irish descendants. However the minorities are numerous: they have Asian, Greek or Italian origins.
- eighteen hundred: two thousand five hundred and forty inhabitants
- eighteen twenty: twelve thousand
- eighteen fifty-one: thirty-nine thousand
- eighteen seventy-one: two hundred six thousand eight hundred
- nineteen and one: four hundred eighty-seven thousand nine hundred
- nineteen twenty-five: one million thirty-nine thousand
- two thousand and three: four million
- two thousand and fifty : six million people will probably live in Sydney.
The population of Sydney obviously increases constantly.
Sydney:The Olympic host city for the 2000 games
On Wednesday May the tenth two thousand at midday ( it was eleven thirty p.m. in Athens and nine o'clock in the morning in New York) the Olympic flame was lit according to the antic ceremony and the Olympic tradition. It began its long trip ...
In two thousand, one hundred and ninety-six countries took part in the Olympic Games: it's considerable!
There were ten thousand two hundred athletes involved in twenty-eight disciplines and six hundred and forty tests.
Three billion five million televiewers in the world watched the event.
Sydney:...?
Capacity: one hundred and ten thousand spectators
Site: the Olympic park of Sydney
Distance from Sydney: fourteen kilometres
End of work: March nineteen ninety-nine
The Olympic in Sydney was especially conceived to welcome the Olympic Games.
However, it was not the central place, it was nethertheless the greatest open air site of all the Olympic History of the Games.

"- eighteen hundred: two thousand five hundred and forty inhabitants
- eighteen twenty: twelve thousand
- eighteen fifty-one: thirty-nine thousand
- eighteen seventy-one: two hundred six thousand eight hundred
- nineteen and one: four hundred eighty-seven thousand nine hundred
- nineteen twenty-five: one million thirty-nine thousand
- two thousand and three: four million
- two thousand and fifty : six million people will probably live in Sydney.
The population of Sydney obviously increases constantly."
par :
"The population of Sydney obviously increases constantly. Currently about four million people live in Sydney. In eighteen hundred, Sydney had only two thousand five hundred and forty inhabitants while it will probably have six million
