Bonjour,

Expressions + gérondif

On emploie le gérondif après certaines expressions telles que what about (pour proposer quelque chose). I don’t mind, to be good at, to be fond of, to be fed up with.

What about going to the restaurant ?
Et si on allait au restaurant ?
I don’t mind coming earlier.
Cela ne me dérange pas de venir plus tôt.
My brother is good at playing chess.
Mon frère est bon aux échecs.
I’m fond of travelling.
J’aime voyager.
Mary is fed up with helping you.
Mary en a assez de t’aider.

Exercice
Traduire.

1- Et si on allait au cinéma ce soir ?
2- John en a assez d’attendre le train.
3- Mes parents aiment voyager.
4- Mon frère est bon en chant.
5- Cela ne me dérange pas de faire ton lit.

John had enough of waiting for the train.

Making your bed doesn't bother me.
