Around the world since centuries, animals are used to test products ranging from poison in the Middle Age to new cancer drugs today.
Almost every medical treatment you use has been tested on animals.
I think that animal testing has helped to develop vaccines against diseases like, polio, rubella and TB (tuberculosis).
If we didn’t done animal testing the most of antibiotics, insulin and cancer treatment could not be discovered.
Moreover operations on animals helped to develop organ transplant and open-heart-surgery techniques.
But my point of view is that human life has not greater intrinsic value than animal life.
Animals have as much right to life as human beings.
For me death through research is absolutely unnecessary and is morally no different from murder.
And when locked up they suffer tremendous stress, can we know they don’t feel pain? And besides if whoever must death of the results of operations or medicament why wouldn’t be us rather than animals?
However I am quite convinced of that researches do a general effort to use animals that are less likely to suffer the sensations of pain or discomfort. Many studies have too replaced mammals with fish, and new researchers are even trying to use bacteria in tests instead of rats.
Even so Himmler looks upon the Jewish, Russians as animals, subhumans. And we are animals same rabbits, dogs, mice, we are just more intelligent.
If tomorrow more intelligent humans than us will arrive from another planet and utilised us for testing, will think us that will be normal?
