-where do you live
-In Harlem
-are you always at school? (are you still at school ?)

-so , you regrets (regret) -yes !a lot ! because now I could not make the job of my dream : paediatrician. I have to make a job that I don’t like very much whereas continuing I would maybe obtain scholarships to continue my studies.
-are you alone in this situation?

Bonjour.

- Hello ! My name is Perrine See and I am a journalist.
- Hello ! My name is Jimmy.
- Do you agree to answer some questions ?
- Yes, of course.
- How old are you ?
- I am 14 years old.
- Where do you live ?
- I live in Harlem.
- Do you still go to school ?
- Oh, no ! I left school one year ago.

- Why did you leave ? ( il faut redonner au verbe sa base verbale dans une question : 'did' sert à indiquer le prétérit à lui tout seul )
- Well, I left school because I didn't take an active part in the lessons. I used to skip classes because I thought they were boring.
( = je sautais des cours parce que je les trouvais ennuyants ). My friends and I did silly things instead of going to school... Now I would like to go back to school but my parents don't agree.
- You mean => vous voulez dire que
you regret...
- Oh yes, quite a lot ! You see I won't be able to be a paediatrician. It's a job I have always dreamt of doing. >( = c'est un métier que j'ai toujours rêvé de faire ).
Now I am obliged to accept any job even if I don't like it whereas if I had gone on ( = si j'avais continué ) I would perhaps have ( = j'aurais peut-être ) obtained a scholarship and the money to study.
- Are a lot of young people in the same situation, do you think ?
- Oh, yes ! Lots of my friends have stopped school. The big difference is that I would like to go back to school whereas they don't.
- Well, That's all I have to ask you. Thank you very much for having answered and ...good luck !

Pardonnez-moi de m'être mal débrouillée avec la couleur verte !

Bonjour.

It's a pity ( = Il est dommage que ...) so many ( = tant ) of my friends have stopped school : apparently we now are in a similar situation.
Well... I want to mention that I feel there's a little difference between us : it seems that most of them ( = la plupart d'entre eux ) have accepted their life as a fate ( = une fatalité ). It's not my case : I know I have been stupid but I also know that nothing is lost. I want to get out of this ( = me sortir de là ) and achieve ( = réaliser ) my project.
