This document is a press article from the magazine « Time » issued in 1995.
This article is entitle « The road warriors » and it is about the teleworking .
When people telecomute, that mean they work at home contrary to in their office.
They transmit informations and get infos all over the world using modern technology like fax-machines, mobiles phone, computers, internet or laptops.

Today, we can say this new way of working is increasing.
Indeed, there are more than three millions employers who are already teleworkers in US company .
According the article, every year , we notice report an increase of 20 %.
This important trend could explain it by all this new way of communicating .Thanks to them, it’s easier to communicate at a distance.
Nevertheless, It seems that the journalist be skeptical about this recently trend of the high technology. He says it presents advantagdes but he has reserves.
On the one hand he seems to think that teleworking is may be a good way to work but on the other hand, the journalist seems to tell us that it’s unfair for Executives who have worked hard to reach their important status and perks to abandon them.
Consequently, the journalist has mixed-felling about teleworking.
Executives and employees disapprove of it.
Indeed, Executives don’t want to become a teleworkers because they worked so hard to obtain their privileges that they are not willing to abandon them.
Concerning employees , they disagree with teleworking too.
When they have heard the news, they have been discouraged .
According to the article, a lot of people have been afraid and discouraged by this new way of working .
We have got an exemple In venice and in california, for exemple : « the metamorphosis has not been easy ; a lot of people left, admits Tony Stern, the firm’s creative director »
Therefore, they decided to left their work because it was too hard for them.
To be teleworker afraid people since their working place is associeted with their social life.
It’s a way for emplyees to be stimulate .
For exemple, they can chat with their collegues, they can have lunch with them and they have a lots of contact with people.
If they work at home, it’s difficult for them to be motivated and to keep concentrated.

Of course, teleworking presents advantages and drawbacks.
For exemple, people don ‘t come back late at home in the evening, they can look after their children and they can spend more time with family.
However, their boss may think employees are available at anytime. As a result, he can violate your private life. It’s the family conditions.
Concerning working conditions, they haven’t got any problem of transport, they avoid the traffic jam, and they have possibilities to start working when they want. Moreover, there are no tensions with the collegues.
For the drawnbacks, it’s hard for teleworkers to make a clear separation between your work and your personal life. Further more, the boss may think empoyees are available at anytime. So he may violate your private life.
Concerning, working conditions it may be difficult to keep motivated since there are no contact with collegues. They may feel lonely because they work on their own all day long.
But when they work at home, it maight be hard to finish their work since they can be disturbed all this time by children or phone .

This job is particuliar and I think you musn’t like communication if you want practise this job. It’s not astonish if a lot of people don’t want to work in this conditions.
Personnaly, I won’t be able to be a teleworker because I will not be able to stand staying at home all day along working alone.

I would find difficult to not speak with anybody . Besides, If you are lonely, you can’t take our mind off things. It’s easy to be depressed when you are work on your own.
That’s why, I won’t be a teleworker.
But everyone to their own opinion.

merci

This document is a press article from the magazine « Time » issued in 1995.
This article is entitle « The road warriors » and deals with teleworking .
When people telecomute, that meanS they work at home instead of in an office.
They send and get information and to and from all over the world using modern technology like fax-machines, mobiles phone, computers, using internet, a Local Area Network (LAN) and so on ...

Today, we can say this new way of working is (still) increasing.
Indeed, there are more than three millions employers who are already teleworkers in US company .
According the article, every year , we notice an increase of 20 %.
This important trend could explain it by all this new way of communicating .Thanks to them, it’s easier to communicate remotly.

Therefore, they decided to left their work because it was too hard for them.
Being a teleworker frightens people since their working place is associated with their social life.
It’s a way for employees to be stimulated .
For exemple, they can chat with their collegues, they can have lunch with them and they have lots of contact with people.
If they work at home, it’s difficult for them to be motivated and to keep concentrated.

J'ai grossièrement relu la première partie ... AUx autres et à toi de finir, et surtout de te relire. Bon courage
