here are some little sentences I've tried to translate.

- Il a dit qu'elle avait eu l'intention de passer discuter la veille.
He said she had planned to come and talk with him the day before.
- Elle suggéra d'aller au cinéma ce soir là.
She proposed to go to the movie theater that night.
- Danny demanda si nous pouvions nous rencontrer la semaine suivante.
Danny asked whether we could meet the next week.
- Elle voulait que j'ouvre la porte mais je n'allais pas la laisser entrer !
She wanted me to open the door but I didn't intend to let her come in!
- Terry conseilla à Jessie et à Ruth de contacter le directeur pour se plaindre.
Terry advised Jessie and Ruth to contact the headmaster (in order) to complain.
- Il s'attendait à ce que je sois en retard, mais ce ne fut pas le cas.
He was expected to my delay but it didn't occur/happen. are they both right?
- Il ordonna aux enfants de rentrer immédiatement.
He ordered the children to come back immediately.
- Le sac à main de la vieille dame fut remis au commissariat par M. Strachan.
The oldered woman's handbag was given to the police station by Mr Strachan.
- Le réveil de Nick s'est arrêté pendant la nuit et cela explique son retard.
Nick's alarm-clock stopped working during the night, that is why he is late.
- As-tu d'autres tasses à thé ? De formes différentes ?
Do you have any other tea cups? With different shapes?

Danny asked whether we could meet the next week.(Can be found, but not in an exercise!)
- Elle voulait que j'ouvre la porte mais je n'allais pas la laisser entrer !
She wanted me to open the door but I didn't intend to let her come in!

but it didn't occur/happen. are they both right? They are grammatically right, but not idiomatic... Find something else... (much more usual!)- Il ordonna aux enfants de rentrer immédiatement.
