Hello dears,
Another easy exercice that everyone can do! Let's write together...

1) "A woman's job is never done!"
2) If you could choose your Xmas present, what would it be?
3) What is your favourite famous monument?
ANSWER A: topic 3: please, indicate possible mistakes and underline what looks clumsy to you.
Among all the monuments I have seen in the four corners of the world, I was the most impressed by ? the TAJ MAHAL located at AGRA in India.
The TAJ MAHAL is a mausoleum built by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his favorite, beloved wife Muntaz Mahal to house her tomb. Then it is also housed of Shah Jahar himself.
Jahan and Muntaz were married during 19 years and were an inseparable couple who loved each other deeply. Muntaz Mahal died aftergiving birth to their 14th child.
Started in 1631 the construction of all the buildings and gardens occupied 20,000 workers and craftsmen during 22 years.
The TAJ MAHAL is a masterpiece which attracts millions of tourists a year.
Imagine a huge dome all in white marble surrounded by 4 other smaller ones rising on a large sand stone quadrilateral, itself covered with black or white marble panels inlaid with precious and semi-precious stones. These stones aligned to form tall spires, flowers, fruits, mixed with calligraphy. The whole thing is flanked by 4 huge minarets.
IT IS BREATHBREAKING
I stayed a whole day from dawn to sunset. The entire building is reflected in a water pool; its colors change according to the sun light.
Not only is the monument a love message, but it evokes wealth, at the same time harmony,
purity, spirituality. On this site, I felt calm and happy.
to the writer, and to all of you for your future help!

Hello again,

Here is ANSWER B: Topic 3: what is your favourite famous monument? Please, indicate possible mistakes and underline what looks clumsy to you.
The monument which comes to my mind is mont St Michel. I remember having quite a shock when I first discovered its impressive outline for real. Of course the shape is very famous, and I was familiar with it.... But nonetheless, I was taken aback by the unexpected and wonderful view. I was in my car, driving on the road leading directly to it, and suddenly I got this wonderful, striking sight: it was as though the abbey and all the houses around had just emerged from the sea. Actually, the photos I had seen didn't really convey the flat surroundings of the fields and of the sea at low tide- or maybe I hadn't noticed so far. It was early in the morning and besides, at this time of the year, there were very few tourists and cars, so that the whole impression was one of stately beauty, of quietness and serenity...
for your help!

Hello dears,

I agree with Gerold, this text is extremely good!
I'm not going to give you my indications so early, but I found a few 'clumsy' words or expressions that 'struck' me in such an excellent work, and one ambiguity that should be cleared up.
I'm sure you'll perfect your friend's expression! Go for it!

I think the ambiguity lies in the phrase "the flat surroundings of the fields and of the sea" and more precisely in the word "surroundings" : I suppose you mean the fields and the sea rather than a larger area around them?
Suggestion: the flat landscape of fields and sea ... (do you really want to mention that it's "flat"?)

Hello
Thank you for the correction 🙏
Yes, I want to emphasize the flat land all around, because of the contrast between the mount and the rest of the landscape...

J'aime bien 'the flat surroundings of the fields and of the sea'...

In my opinion, at this time of the year, is ambiguous! Who will tell me why?
