Correction/ texte féministe
Message de paleontologie posté le 08-03-2019 à 17:04:27 (S | E | F)
Bonjour !
Merci d'avance !

Why should the women have to pay their menstrual material when the State reimburses drugs for example ? This is precisely the subject of an initiative that has recently shaked the news.
The third of february 2019, Irène, a 19-year-old feminist, performs a particularly bloody act : she decides to go for a stroll all over the city of Paris a day of menstruation without any periodic protection, the crotch largely bloodstained.
Her goal : denounce the menstrual precariousness and ask for the free access to menstrual material for all women.

And there is cause for alarm : according to a recent study, women spend 10 000 euros on average throughout a lifetime in sanitary towels, tampons and other periodic protections.
But not all of them can affort it.
I suppose you haven't heard of it, but let's talk about the case of homeless women ; I've seen quite bloodcurdling reports about women who were forced to use newsprint or toilet paper inside their pants despite not being able to buy a sanitary towel or a tampon. In addition to being disagreeable, this is particularly dangerous for them from the point of view of health.
Female students are also particularly affected. And it's not easy to seek help concerning such a taboo subject.
To combat this phenomenon, several initiatives have already emerged in the world : last year, the University of Lille, France, had distributed 30 000 kits of periodic protections for the benefit of the female students for instance, and, in Scotland, the authorities aspire to spread that very social measure into all the schools of the country.

For Irène, the State must pay fully our protections ; it's not a matter of luxury when it comes to health. The young woman intends to question the public authorities.
It is via Instagram, a social network on which she is actively followed by a lot of young women who admire her courage and wish to break the taboos, that the young woman is going to share all day long pictures of her in the amazed crowd.
What kind of reactions did she get by the way ? Irène describes puzzled looks, some people even took pictures, especially young girls. But she can count on the fingers of one hand the persons that came to strike up a discussion on her motivations.
For Irène, this act tends to cause a small-scale awareness raising. She calls it with amusement "staining" the minds. Let us see if other bloggers or other media will espouse that approach.

Hello!

Why should the women have to pay XXX their menstrual material when the State reimburses drugs for example?(A strange comparison, or argument...) This is precisely the subject of an initiative that has recently shaked the news.

I suppose you haven't heard of it, (Yes, I have!) but let's talk about the case of homeless women; I've seen quite bloodcurdling reports about women who were forced to use newsprint or toilet paper inside their pants despite not being able to buy a sanitary towel or a tampon. In addition to being disagreeable, this is particularly dangerous for them from the point of view of health.

Merci beaucoup !

Why should women have to pay for their menstrual material, which is a basic need, when the State provides food assistance for example ? This is precisely the subject of an initiative that has recently shaked the news.

In addition to being uncomfortable, this is particularly dangerous for them from a health point of view.
