Hello,
Le problème ne vient pas de "such" mais du nom qui vient après.
Selon qu' en anglais, ce nom prend un a/an ou pas, il faut le mettre ou non.
La première règle pratique est:
1. Such (se réfère à un sujet déjà mentionné, ou un fait étonnant ) + a/an + [nom comptable singulier]
Why did you make such an error?
2. Such (= idem) + [nom comptable pluriel ou non comptable]
Why did you make such errors?
We get such dirty water that one cannot make tea with it
She has got such lovely hair [en anglais, l'eau et la chevelure ne sont pas comptables]
3. Il y a quelques exceptions avec des exclamations "Such a shame" et des cas où même les natifs hésitent, par exemple:
Such a nice weather [sans doute par attraction avec "a nice day"] <== VS ==> Such nice weather (majoritaire et correct)

Hello prescott, did you really mean to write:
She has got such lovely complexion
In U.S. English, we'd say:
She has got such a lovely complexion.

I think both are acceptable:

Hello,
No kidding! I thought "such complexion" was more likely AE.
Actually, no, (shy red complexion ), I didn't mean to write that. Thanks to "copy/ pasting", I mixed it up! In my first draft, I wrote,
[...] such a looovely place, such a loooovely face,[after such a lovely song, named Hotel California as "countable"
She has got such lovely hair as "non-countable".
And "weather" (and possibly "facial complexion") as "questionable", since Google finds 306 makeup advisors' pages for [face "such complexion"], most of which are in US (205), 29(UK) 1(AU)...
In fact, "such a complexion" remains far ahead in both AE and BE
5 210 pages [face "such a complexion"] 2 140 (US) 65(UK) 38(AU),
so I was supposed to drop it.
Thanks to both of you for your contribution
