introduction :
Today we’re going to speak to you about english cuisine.
English cuisine is shaped by the country's temperate climate, its geography, and its history. The latter includes interactions with other European countries, and the importing of ingredients and ideas from places such as North America, China, and India during the time of the British Empire and as a result of post-war immigration.
In 2005, the famous American Culinary magazine "Gourmet" has awarded the prize of the best food in the city of.... London ! Understand by this that there is among the world's best restaurants! You will be surprised to learn that English food can be excellent.

(dans mon exposé je dis "we" car il se peut que je le presente avec une camarde de classe mais il s'agit là que d'un simple détail )

première partie:
The first aspect we will consider is the traditional cuisine.
The real English cuisine is more traditional family and you do not find often in restaurants, but in pubs that still serve this cuisine in a friendly and relaxed.

The two most legendary meals are breakfast and high tea. Breakfast often consists of a cup of tea, cereal and toast served with marmalade. The full English breakfast "(eggs fried or scrambled, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes, sometimes with baked beans (white beans cooked in tomato sauce) or blood sausage (black pudding) is instead used the weekend. The "high tea" served in the tea rooms of leading hotels in the tea-shops or at home consists of tea, cream tea (buttered scones, strawberry jam and "clotted cream), fruit cakes candied cucumber sandwiches and other delicacies.

deuxième partie:
The next point we want to make is the reputation abroad of the english cuisine.

English cuisine may suffer from a relatively poor international reputation when compared to that of French cuisine and Italian cuisine. However, at least for the English, this perception of English food may seem outdated: the poor reputation of industrially produced urban food in the twentieth century did not ever really represent the quality or taste of food cooked in the home.

During the middle Ages, English cuisine enjoyed an excellent reputation; its decline can be traced back to the move away from the land and increasing urbanisation of the populace during the Industrial Revolution. During this process Britain became a net importer of food.

British cuisine has a bad image in France, people think it is not as refined as theirs. And they don’t make the effort to taste it. English food is so much prejudice that no one will hesitate to denounce them, even the former president of France, jack chiraque said that British cuisine was the worst "after that of Finland.

Yet British cuisine has changed it is more modern than before. Modern British (or New British) cuisine is a style of British cooking which fully emerged in the late 1970s, and has become increasingly popular. It uses high-quality local ingredients, preparing them in ways which combine traditional British recipes with modern innovations, and has an affinity with the Slow Food movement.

conclusion:
the food is of good quality even if the reputation of British cooking still unsatisfactory: During the past ten years the British have made considerable efforts to make peace with food, new popular leader like Jamie Oliver have created great events around the British cuisine.
If the English cuisine has long been a bad reputation from his French hosts, the reality is quite different now. Even more, it has almost exceeded the culinary metropolitan well before our British friends did not seem much interested in these "trifles"!
