Bonsoir,

Merci beaucoup :-) !
Bonne soirée!

BRIDGET JONES

1. Summary of the plot
Bridget Jones is a single, thirty-eight-year-old woman. Smoking and Drinking lot of alcohol are her some bad habits. But in the New Year, Bridget decides to take control of her life and she writes a diary in which she will always tell the complete truth. Bridget's mother is a bored housewife and leaves Bridget's father and she begins a new story with a presenter of TV-shopping with which she works to finally return to the father of Bridget. Sentimentally Bridget flirts with her boss, Daniel Cleaver. But Mark Darcy¸ quite reserved even stiff barrister who has known her since she was a child young enough to frolic naked in his wading pool also interested Bridget; he is extremely delicate but sometimes a bit dry. And she will have to make a choice… At the end of the first film Bridget and Mark find a sort of happiness together. However, both films have followed so their love may be disturbed.

2. Recommendation of the film
According to us, the movie was incredibly hilarious and it cracked us up. Bridget Jones is super awkward and likeable at the same time, what makes her charm. She can’t choose between two men and described all its countless moods in his diary. It is unintentionally funny, smokes and drinks too much, it doesn’t look like the sexy actresses there are in every movie these days in Hollywood and that's what we liked about this film.

We have seen the movie but we haven’t read the book because it was still too complicated in English for us therefore we collected impressions of people who have read it on the internet and the recommendations they have made. Some Francophone’s say that the book is not easy to read because the author, Helen Fielding, uses familiar everyday expressions and typically English but despite that it is a nice experience and everyone agrees on the fact that is very funny and touching.

3. Presentation of the main character(s)
-Bridget Jones called Bridge or Jones by her friends it is played by Renée Zellweger. She is a single British girl in her early 30's, living in London, who is unluckily with men obsessed with her weight and everything she eats, she takes us with her in his adventures and his love adventures.

-Daniel Cleaver played by Hugh Grant: the boss of a publishing company who is a philanderer, but attracts Bridget's wilder side. He’s the Bridget's boss in the first film. Throughout history, it will come out with Bridget but she discovers one day that he is cheating. It will therefore terminate their history, it is he who will then return to her but she'll grow back.

-Mark Darcy played by Colin Firth: a civil rights lawyer who is intelligent, quiet and serious - a better long-term partner for Bridget (despite the fact that at first she finds he quite boring). He tells her he loves her "as she is" with his faults and qualities. She will do the same later, and this way finally, he refuses a job in New York in order to stay with Bridget in London.

4. Advantages and disadvantages of the film
Bridget Jones conveys the image of a strong woman and also very sensitive to which we easily indentifies its behavior "woman who cares about the things a woman". The Bridget Jones's Diary is a movie that all generations like despite the fact that it doesn’t necessarily interested in men. Even if scenes are trivial and that the end is fairly predictable, it's a film very fun, entertaining and has nothing of a soap opera because it combines love drama and hilarious comedy.
