Bonsoir à tous,
auriez-vous des commentaires à faire sur ma présentation orale du bac anglais, Idée de progrès ?
Merci pour vos réponses, cordialement.

I’m going to talk about « Idea of progress ». To begin with, I’d like to state a definition of progress. Progress is the idea that the world and the society can evolve in therms of sciences, technology, modernization, living condition, etc. However, the idea of progress is still debate between those who consider that it’s beneficial and those for whom it’s harmful.
Now, I propose we look at a question: « Should we fear progress? »
To answer this question, we will start by Technical progress after scientific progress and finally social progress.

I. Technical progress
First of all, I think progress is essential to evolve. History is made of progress and evolution that have allowed the world to be what it’s today. For example, in the article “The big money”, the narrator speaks of Henry FORD because it has revolutionized the world with his first car “Model T” in 1909.

II. Scientific progress
Scientific progress can be good or bad because in a tv we can look runners failing into syringe because they are doped. Doping is very dangerous for health and they take this for more performance. Athlete can become addicted for
But the scientific progress can be good for example for example vaccination allowed protecting themselves from some disease. Over time they have become stronger and more diversified.

but we'll see that all the world is not a fan of this concept and people try to part

III escaping modernity / resitance to progress
In world majoritary in america they have a concept created in america : Amish life they consist to escape modernity whit city, farm who they have only 1970's item whit strictly rules but now they his breaked by new generations who whant modernity like radio and comics , in amish city the man and women works man more and women take care of the family and the men is upper the women and boss of familty , they are stubbornly rural and tradition loving people and he practise very hard religion
in the amish way of life they have a invisible line who need to crossing an for got technological object. The amish find their happiness and meaning in labour
-Auroville is a utopian city in south india whoses purpose is to buil a word of beaty , they want survive to the current word chaotic , this community longs to start over and live harmony in this microcosm whit 6 part
-Student unplug In portland voluntary students had to refrainfrom using any technological device for four days , students were hooked on their phones , during this 4 four days a lot of students stop this at 1 or two day all students realized how addictive cell phones and laptos can be .
Alexander Supertramp was an American hikers and ventured into the Alaskan wilderness in April 1992 with little food and equipment, hoping to live simply for a time in solitude. His death occurred in a converted bus used as a backcountry shelter, near Lake Wentitika in Denali National Park and Preserve for him hapiness only real hen shared

To conclude, the man makes many advances in many fields such as medicine or technology. On the other side, there are not those good progresses, there are some that abyss health (drug), on the other that can remove life but some progress improves life as the many advances in medicine ) and technology but if we did this tech-free experiment in blanqui it would be difficult to share off our habits it may be uncessfull we might get used to it

I’m going to talk about « Idea of progress ». To begin with, I’d like to GIVE a definition of progress. Progress is the idea that the world and ... society can evolve in TERMS of science, technology, modernization, living conditionS, etc.
However, the idea of progress is still AN OBJECT OF debate between those who consider IT AS beneficial and those for whom it’s harmful.
Now, I propose we look at a question: « Should we BE AFRAID OF progress? »
To answer this question, we will start by DISCUSSING Technical progress FIRST, THEN scientific progress and finally social progress.

I. Technical progress
First of all, I think progress is essential to evolve. History is made of progress and evolution that have allowed the world to be what it’s today. For example, in the article “The big money”, the narrator speaks of Henry FORD because HE .... revolutionized the world with his first “Model T”CAR in 1909.

II. Scientific progress
Scientific progress can be good or bad because ON TELEVISION we can SEE runners (???) because they are doped. Doping is very dangerous forONE'S health and ATHLETES take this for A BETTER performance. AthleteS can become addicted to it.
But ... scientific progress can be good: for example vaccinationS PREVENT MANY diseaseS. Over time they have become stronger and more diversified.

but we CAN see that all the world is not AGREED WITH THIS and people try to part(??)

III escaping modernity / resitance to progress
