Correction/sexisme
Message de verm38 posté le 05-05-2014 à 23:11:23 (S | E | F)
Bonsoir,

To answer this question, we have two documents: “The Boy who danced Ballet” and the article “London 2012 Olympics: Britain’s women boxers set to punch their weight”.
“The Boy who danced Ballet” deals with a city where roles are clearly defined: men should be brash and masculine and girls should be sweet and docile.
In this city, there is a boy, Maxence, who dance and so is rejected by everybody.
The article is about two women who decided to boxing. Is to show that not only the boy can boxing.

Gender roles are society's concepts of how men and women are expected to act.
For example, men are expected to tinker, to make gardening, to lead the car; while women are expected to do the cleaning, cooking and caring children.
So, masculine roles are usually associated with strength, aggression, and dominance, while feminine roles are usually associated with passivity and nurturing.
In the first document, men have to be.. and women...
Even today, gender roles exist from birth : boys in blue, girls in pink ; boys have got trucks, toy guns, and superhero paraphernalia, which are active toys that promote motor skills, aggression, and solitary play while the girls posses dolls and dress-up apparel that promote nurturing, social proximity, and role play.
These gender roles cause the birth of stereotypes (roles are assigned to men and women), which lead to sexism. Indeed, sexism is the attitudes, conditions, or behaviors that promote stereotyping of social roles based on gender.
If gender roles don’t exist, sexism doesn't exist.
So, according to me, promote stereotypes it is sexist.

However, sometimes, gender roles are useful. Indeed, most of men are more strong physically than women. We learn in science that men's body produce more testosterone than women's body and this hormone contributes in muscular development.
So, men should do works more physical than those of women.

Bonsoir,
erreurs en bleu.

“The Boy who danced Ballet” deals with a city where roles are clearly defined: men should be brash and masculine and girls should be sweet and docile.
In this city, there is a boy, Maxence, who dance(s 3ème personne) and so is rejected by everybody.
The article is about two women who decided to boxing. (sujet?)***Is to show that not only the boy can boxing.

Gender roles are society's concepts of how men and women are expected to act.
For example, men are expected to tinker(DIY), to make gardening (to garden est plus courant), to lead the car(français traduit); while women are expected to do the cleaning, cooking and (infinitif)caring (préposition) children.

So, according to me, promote stereotypes it is sexist.

However, sometimes, gender roles are useful. Indeed, most of men are more strong (adjectif court)physically than women. We learn in science that men's body(pluriel) produce more testosterone than women's body(pluriel) and this hormone contributes in muscular development.
So, men should do works(1) choix du mot 2) mal placé) more physical than those of women.
