Bonjour,
je viens de terminer ce texte pour mon oral d'anglais.
Je ne suis pas très douée en anglais alors est-ce que quelqu'un veut bien m'aider pour les fautes ?
Merci pour vos réponses

Expression Orale N3 Myths and Heroes

I am going to talk about the notion of myths and heroes. First of all, I would like to give a quick definition of that notion. Briefly, a myth can be defined as a story about gods or heroes, it can be a popular belief or a tradition or a false notion. Then, a hero is a person admired for his achievements, noble qualities and great courage. We are thus going to wonder how do ordinary people become heroes and myths. We shall study at first the literary and film heroes and myths. We shall study secondly the ordinary people become a hero.

In the book “ imaginary sands ” we find the definition of myth. Indeed, during all the book, the mother of Kristien tells to her daughter the myth of her family, more exactly rebel women of her family. Kristien is herself a rebel and the death of her mother will allow her to make a decision. In this book the author is an engaged writer. Through the portraits of Kristien, Ouma and all other rebel and rebellious women, the author, little by little, tells us the story of South Africa, by including there full of supernatural and fantasy. Indeed, the narratives of Ouma appear as tales where it is sometimes difficult to encircle the reality of the imagination.
In the book “ A Dry White Season ” Ben Du Toit, white man living in Africa, decides to discover the truth on the death of several black people. Become a hero in spite of him during the book, Ben Du Toit dies to murder by a white man belonging to the police. Far from being intended for it, its actions and his desire to help the black people make of him a hero. He thus dies like a hero. This book was cinematographically also adapted 1989 (nine teen eighty nine).

Gandhi was a real person and also a hero following the incident of the train. Furthermore, Gandhi has to spend its life to help the others that is the black people. The entitled document “ Gandhi’s First Crusade ” tell the story of the incident of the train which took place in 1893. The author of this document is called Roberta Stauss Feuerlicht.
Nelson Mandela was a South African statesman; it was one of the leaders of apartheid before becoming a president of the Republic in South Africa. He too became a hero because he fought and to fight against the racial segregation. The American president made a speech on the role that to play Nelson Mandela in the life of its country but also in other countries.

In conclusion, we can say that every time borrows and updates certain myths or creates it of new. The hero can be a fictitious or real character who marked the tradition, the story, the everyday life. The popular culture and the counterculture do not stop producing their own heroes. Here is how an ordinary person can become a hero.
