Oral/Myths and Heroes
Message de emma0710 posté le 05-03-2016 à 15:39:18 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,
Je prépare mes oraux pour le Bac, et j'apprécierais énormément quelques avis et/ou un peu d'aide s'il vous plait.
Je vous remercie d'avance.

Introduction :
People have always needed myths and heroes to have as models or to admire.
A myth is a beautiful story or a legend that is based on real or fictional facts. A hero is a person who is admired for his courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. A hero is ready to sacrifices his entire life for his ideal as did Nelson Mandela during his life.

Problematic :
Therefore I wonder to what extent can we consider Nelson Mandela as a hero?

Development :
Nelson Mandela was one of the historic leaders of the fight against the blacks’ discrimination and apartheid which was a system of laws that enforced deep racial segregation and empowered whites over other races, especially blacks. (1948/1994)
He was the first black president of South Africa.
He spent his young life fighting for the freedom of South Africa's black population from oppression imposed by the minority government.
In the last pages of his autobiography (long walk to freedom) that we studied in class, Mandela says that he first thought that he was free but then realized that all his boyhood freedom was an illusion. So he began to hunger for it, he after understood that all his people were not free and then that everybody even the oppressors (whites) were not free.
That’s why he dedicated his whole life fighting, in a pacifist way, for the ideal of a democratic and free society in which all persons live together in harmony and with equal opportunities.
He sacrificed everything whether his family life or his own freedom as he was sent in jail during 27 years accused from actions he didn’t do.
After his release from prison he continued to fight against his ideal but also forgave those who put him in prison which I think was not easy to do.
Mandela is not only a local hero for South Africans but also for the entire world. He is known world wild and is an example for everybody.
And like said Obama in his tribute for Mandela and I quote: we have lost one of the most influential, courageous and profoundly good human beings that any of us will share time with on this Earth. He no longer belongs to us - he belongs to the ages.

Conclusion :
To conclude,
We can consider Nelson Mandela as a hero because showed his persistence by defeating the racism in South Africa; throughout his political career he never gave up and always kept going forwards to reach his goal even when things weren't going his way. He always fought peacefully and he not only cared about his people he also cared about others, he persistently tried to make equal rights for everyone and end the discrimination.
We can also say that he is part of that contemporary hero family like Martin Luther King, Rosa Parks…

Bonsoir,
Introduction :
- to have as (à enlever) models or to admire.
- to sacrifices: TO + INFINITIF
- as did Nelson Mandela (inverser l'ordre des mots)during his life.

ta problématique doit être plus large.
Où est ton plan?

Development :
- all his people were (singulier car A PEOPLE = un peuple) not free and then that everybody even the oppressors (whites) were not free: répétition.
- all persons: people.
- After his release from prison he continued to fight against his ideal but also forgave those who put him in prison which I think was not easy to do.
-And like said Obama in his tribute for Mandela: éviter AND en début de phrase - AS + sujet + verbe conjugaison

Conclusion :
- because (sujet)showed his persistence

Bonjour,

Bonjour...
quelques points
whether his family life or his own freedom ...
Je dirais "both...and" pas "whether..or"
to fight against his ideal ...'for' pas 'against'
He is known world wild ....world-wide
kept going forwards ..forward pas forwards

hello !

"Therefore I wonder to what extent can we consider Nelson Mandela as a hero?" Cette phrase est grammaticalement fausse ... En effet, "I wonder" introduit une interrogative indirecte, donc impose la structure : Sujet + verbe (sans inversion ) et pas de point d'interrogation ni d'intonation montante !
