Oral/lieux et formes de pouvoir
Message de ali35 posté le 07-05-2016 à 18:23:46 (S | E | F)
Bonjour ! ,
Ce lundi je passe mon oral d'anglais, est ce que vous pouvez corriger mon devoir sur la notion lieu et forme de pouvoir, s'il vous plait, ce serait très gentil de votre part ... Je vous remercie d'avance...

I'm going talk about Places and forms of power. First of all I would like to give a definition of this notion. In politics and social science, power is the ability to influence the behavior of people. In order to live together members of a community accept rules, regulations, laws. This helps to create social cohesion but can also lead to conflicts and tensions. Even when authority seems absolute, there are always counter-powers which question it, aim at limiting its excesses and resist it.
In order to illustrate this notion I have chosen to talk about the media and attempt to answer the question Why can we say that the media have an important power ? To answer this question I willspeak in a first time about transmission of the information, in a second time about advertising and to finish about the opinion publique.
First, the media are means of broadcasting of the information to the public. Today, we can observe several media such as television, newspapers, radio etc... and all last ones allow to inform us and keep us informed of what is happening in the world. For instance, only a few hours after the bombardment of Charlie Hebdo or the attacks in Paris of 3 november 2015, everyone was aware of the situation thanks to the media. That shows the power of the media.
Then, in class we talked about advertising. Indeed, advertising aims at a threeefold result : first it wants made known a property (un bien), a product,a service, secondly it wants to promote its trademark, its image and thirdly it incites the public to buy. Advertising therefore has a power of influence to cause a purchasing power. Thus, media and in particular television, radio and internet are going to play an important role for the broadcasting of these advertisements. For example the radio always makes the advertising of stores with products cheaper etc.... The advertising can also promote an individual, for example, the election of a politician, or an association.
Furthermore, the media have also a power on the public opinion. Indeed, we call public opinion the judgment of the citizens on a topical subject as the politics, the economy etc.... To know the public opinion, we organize polls, it is the technique which consists to question a part of the population to know the opinion of the whole population. But the results of a poll have no legitimacy, because the popular volonty will can express itself only by the vote. The vote is, in the final, the expression of the choice of the citizens on the big debates of the community. The media are one of the essential average of expression of the diversity of points of view, who allow each to form its opinion.

To conclude, the media play an important role in our society. We can say that the media have an important power because in last ones we find public opinion, information and advertising who are important things in our society.
