Bonjour !
Entrant en deuxième année de prépa BCPST et ayant de gros difficultés en anglais, je m'entraîne cet été. Je me suis lancé dans un thème pris dans des annales et j'aimerais que vous medites disiez ce qui ne va pas. Je pense surtout aux temps et structure des phrases. (j'ai cherché dans un dictionnaire quelques mots de vocabulaire que je ne connaissais pas). Si possible j'aimerais aussi des conseils si vous remarquez une erreur récurrente par exemple.

Cette nuit, vers deux heures, ils étaient montés dans un poids lourd alors que celui-ci roulait au pas dans la file de véhicules qui s'apprêtaient à prendre le tunnel sous la Manche.
–Vous voulez dire que vous êtes montés dans un camion en marche ? s'exclama Ajatashatru, comme si cela était le seul point de l'histoire qui avait vraiment de l'importance.
–Oui, répondit Wiraj de sa grosse voix. Le passeur a ouvert la porte avec une barre de métal et on a sauté à l'intérieur. Le chauffeur n'a même pas dû s'en rendre compte.
–Mais c'est très dangereux, ça!
–Ce qui était dangereux, c'était de rester au pays. On n'avait rien à perdre. Je suppose que c'est la même chose pour toi.
–Ah mais, vous faites erreur là, je ne suis pas un clandestin et je n'ai nullement l'intention de me rendre en Angleterre, se défendit l'Indien. Je vous l'ai dit, je suis un fakir tout ce qu'il y a de plus honorable. (...)
–Arrête tes bobards, coupa l'Africain qui ne croyait pas un seul instant l'histoire abracadabrante de l'Indien.

To be about to : expression que j'ai trouvé pour traduire ''apprêter'' pourquoi ne faut il pas de was ?
