Postuler à UCL/motivation
Message de pierre357 posté le 14-04-2012 à 17:10:34 (S | E | F)
Bonjour,

Object : apply for Erasmus programme.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am currently a student in a law university in xxx (France), I would like to apply for Erasmus Programme in University College of London.

I chose to apply for UCL during my first year at university when I heard of Erasmus programme. Indeed, I always love traveling, meeting people from other country and particularly speaking english with them.
London and ULC are world-famous that's why I would love to discover both of them. Besides, this university is very different from mine, therefore it would be a good experience to learn new methods. I could understand the english law better.

I am interested in law for several years. Thus, when I passed the “A” Level I decided to study law at university. At the moment, I like very much these studies, so I continue.
In order to improve my english level, since it is very important in European Union, I wish to study a year in England. Indeed, I would like to have a international job, this experience can be a advantage in my CV.

I thank you in advance for your interest and the time you have spent reading my resume. I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Your sincerely,

Hello Pierre, I am not an expert but perhaps it would be better to write:
-travelling (traveling is rather american?)
-meeting people from other countries
-I like these studies very much.
It is my opinion.Wait for natives advice to correct your text.
Bonne chance!

Cordialement.

Hello,

"Subject: apply (it would be better to use the actual noun) for Erasmus programme.

Dear Sir or Madam, (better to find whoever is actually responsible for Erasmus applications and address them by name)

I am currently a student at a law university specialising in the study of the law in xxx (France), I would like to apply for a placement with the Erasmus Programme at University College of London (You really ought to know the name of the institution it's "University College London" not "University College of London").

I chose to apply to UCL during my first year at university when I heard of Erasmus programme. Indeed, I have always had a love of traveling, meeting people from other country (think again, plural or not?) and particularly speaking English with them.
London and ULC (really?) are world-famous that's why I would love to discover both of them. Besides, this ("the" would be better) university is very different from mine, therefore it would be a good experience to learn new methods (this makes little sense). I could understand the English law better.

I am interested (check tense) in law for several years. Thus, when I passed (false friend) the “A” Level (no, use "baccalauréat") I decided to study law at university. At the moment, I like very much these studies, so I continue. (lots wrong with this sentence)
In order to improve my English level, since it is very important in the European Union, I wish to undertake a year of study in England. Indeed, I would like to have a international job, this experience can be a advantage in my CV. (Not sure this is the right line to be taking.)

I thank you in advance for your interest and the time you have spent in reading my resumé. I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Your sincerely,(If it is "Dear Sir or Madam" or "To whom it may concern" we end with "Yours faithfully" whereas if it is "Dear Mr Bloggs" we end with "Yours sincerely".

Firsly, I want to thank you Stammer. I really need help from a native.
I have studied english for many years, but school does not prepare pupils for this type of exercise. I think you understand, because you study french.

I agree with you, UCL is one of the best university in UK, I am very lucky. I hope I will succeed, in English and in Law. However, I would repeat a year, if I fail.

Thank you again
Pierre.
