Questions to the management board
Message de fle3fois posté le 23-03-2005 à 20:19:44 (S | E | F | I)

Hello everybody

I will have a meeting with the management board of my company and I would like to ask some questions (in english of course ). Could you correct me to avoid some big mistakes !
  • 1) It seems that China is now becoming a net supplier of steel instead of being a customer.
Do you think it may be very dangerous for the XXX group in general and specially for the continental plants? What can be the answer of the xxx group about this threat?

  • 2)We were asked to lower our production of about 10%, Can you tell us more about the reasons of this decreasing and what are the kind of products mainly concerned?

  • 3)It's a long time that xxx group wants to increase its development through the word. We speak of projects in North America, central Europe, India and China but all these projects are always stopped before their achievement. Right now, is there any project near to be concluded?

    Thanks you in advance

1- It seems that China is now becoming a real 'supplier' of steel instead of merely being a 'consumer' of steel. Do you think it may be very dangerous for the xxxgroup in general, especially for the plants located on the continent?
2- We were asked to have a 10% decrease in our production. Can you explain the reasons for that? Could you say something about the products mainly concerned?
3- It has been a long time since the xxxgroup want (group = groupe de gens = pluriel) to increase its development in the world. We hear (entendons parler) about projects in North America, Central Europ, India and China but these projects are always stopped before they are achieved. Up to now ( jusqu'à présent?), has any project been near to an achievement?
    Bonne soirée.

    Bonjour fle3fois,
    D'autres propositions:

    1) (‘is becoming?un peu maladroit d’utiliser la forme progressive pour un verbe d’etat)
    >>>It seems that China is growing more important. It’s now a significant supplier of steel more than a customer. Don’t you think this could be a threat to some companies, especially those that deal with continental plants? How can they overcome/ cope with this threat?

    >>>China seems to become more and more important. It now sells steel more than it buys it. Should we see its emergence as a threat to xxx companies, and those that manufacture continental plants in general?
(je ne suis pas sûre d’avoir bien compris: the XXX group in general and specially for the continental plants?)

    2) We were asked to cut down our production by more or less 10%.
    >>> Could you tell us why we had to decrease it and which products were concerned?
    >>>Could you tell us the why’s of such a cutting down and which products were selected?

    3) For a long time. XXX company has (xxx companies have) been willing to develop and widespread throughout the world. Projects were carried out in N.A, C. E, India and China but they ended up failing.
    >>> Can we still hope for a fruitful project?
    >>> Is there still a project that will be brought off/ pulled off/carried off? (= accomplish- complete successfully)

    I hope this helps!
    'Cross fingers' pour votre meeting!
